John's Place in Jesus Life

Before we jump into a new sermon series on 1 John, Pastor Rodney gives a prequel by painting a picture of who John was. Young John immediately responds to Jesus' call but we see samples of his lack of humility and wisdom. As he walks with Jesus he becomes Jesus' best friend. John is in Jesus' inner circle, he's always by his side and is closer to Jesus than a brother. After Jesus' resurrection we see a new, mature John who is a pillar in the local church and endures agony to defend what Jesus did for us.
