God's Design for Sexuality

Join Pastor Rod as he explores God's design for sexuality in 1 Corinthians 6:12-20 (ESV). This sermon addresses the challenging topic of sexuality from a biblical perspective, providing clarity and guidance in a world of mixed messages. Pastor Rod contrasts the world's view of sexuality with God's view, emphasizing the importance of stewardship over our bodies. He discusses the serious consequences of operating outside God's design, such as addiction, insecurities, attachment issues, and broken relationships with others and with God. He also highlights the benefits of glorifying God with our bodies, which include living with true freedom, maintaining healthy relationships, and walking in transparency. Pastor Rod explains that sexual sin, according to God’s rule, is any sexual activity outside marriage between a man and a woman. He stresses that just because something is legal doesn’t mean it’s moral and underscores the sacredness of sexuality. He reminds us that our bodies are temples on loan from God and that sin doesn’t remain dormant but always surfaces. Pastor Rod warns that what we worship can become an addiction and addresses the transactional nature of relationships outside God’s design. He points out that while all sin is equal in damnation, it varies in devastation. He emphasizes starting relationships as friends and walking in the freedom that God has laid out, living in the light where God resides and sin is exposed.

This was a significant challenge in Corinth more than 2000 years ago and remains just as relevant today. Join us in understanding how to align our lives with biblical teachings amidst cultural pressures.
