Resurrection Power

In our final sermon of this series, Pastor Rod covers 1 Corinthians 15 to explore the profound significance of the resurrection of Christ. He begins by examining the compelling evidence of the resurrection, highlighting how Christ appeared to over 500 people, the Apostles, and even His skeptical brother James. The Apostles, who once fled in fear, ultimately gave their lives for the truth of the resurrection, as did Paul, who transformed from a church persecutor to one of its most fervent advocates. Pastor Rod then asks the crucial question: What is Christianity without Christ’s Resurrection? Drawing from verses 12-20, he underscores that without the resurrection, our preaching is in vain, our faith is futile, and we are still lost in our sins. Without the resurrection, there is no hope for eternity, and we are left with a hollow faith. But the sermon doesn’t end in despair. Pastor Rod shifts to the promises of the resurrection as outlined in verses 50-57. The dead will be raised, we will receive new, glorified bodies, and death itself will be swallowed up in victory. These promises assure us that we will live forever with Christ. Finally, Pastor Rod encourages believers to reflect on what we should do in the meantime, as urged in verse 58. We are called to be steadfast, immovable, and always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that our labor is not in vain. This sermon is a powerful reminder of the hope and victory we have in Christ’s resurrection, and the call to live our lives in light of this eternal truth.
