Unsettled

Unsettled pt. 8: Why God?

Habakkuk sounds more like a Star Wars character than a person in the Bible, but Habakkuk's story isn't about something far, far, away, instead it still applies to us right here today. Habakkuk asked the question "why?" to God, and through his asking we learn that even though faith might not always have all the answers, it always trusts the one who does. We may ask "why God?" a lot in our lives, but the good news is God is still on the throne, today and every day.

Unsettled

If there's one word for how we're all feeling right now it would probably be this: unsettled. Being unsettled isn't a comfortable feeling. It's jarring. It's unsure. It's scary. If you're a recent graduate looking towards college or getting a job you're feeling unsettled. If you're a parent trying to raise kids right now you're feeling unsettled. If you're an elderly person wondering what the world will look like for you tomorrow you're feeling unsettled. We're all feeling this unsettled-ness in the world right now, and even though unsettled isn't a comfortable place to live in, it is a place where God does some of his best work. This summer we'll be looking at a few of the most iconic characters in the Bible—Abraham, Joshua, David, just to name a few—and seeing how God took their unsettled circumstances and did something amazing with their lives. Whatever you're walking through right now (and we're all walking through a lot), don't doubt that God can, and will, use you in this season of feeling unsettled. Let's get ready to watch him move!
